Be Transfigured

Our Mission at Holy Transfiguration American Coptic Orthodox Church is to live and preach a life transfigured by our relationship with God through the pure Orthodox faith, fully participating in the life-giving Sacraments, fully immersing ourselves in the life of the Church, and fully striving to imitate the pure and perfect example of Christ.

Plans Moving Forward

updated 10/16/2021

  • The current recommendation by the CDC is that everyone wear a mask indoors in areas of substantial to high transmission.

  • San Bernardino county recently moved from "Substantial" to "High."

  • The reason for this new guideline is that the most recent scientific data shows that when they amplified the mRNA of the delta variant from the nasal passages from people who were infected and compared the viral load in those vaccinated with those unvaccinated, it was very similar. What this means is that, although vaccinated individuals are much less likely to get sick from COVID, they are just as likely and able to spread it to others. The virus sits in the nasal passages and that is why the guidelines direct us to wear masks to cover the nose and mouth.

  • Based on these recommendations and findings, we are asking that all parishioners @ HTC (both vaccinated and unvaccinated) wear masks (to cover both nose and mouth) indoors.

  • Upstairs will be set aside as a space for those who do not wish to wear a mask inside the Church.

Distribution of the Holy Mysteries

  • To minimize any accidents, we are encouraging everyone to take Holy Communion the "pre-covid" way.

  • Especially, in receiving the Precious Blood, kindly sip from the Mysteer, as if you are sipping "soup" from a spoon.

Hymns Classes

  • Moving forward, are looking to be very intentional with our hymns classes. God willing we will continue to offer classes after Vespers Raising of Incense on Saturday evenings. Hymns will be from 6:30pm - 7pm

  • In order to encourage more families to attend consistently, and based on your feedback, the new time for Vespers on Saturday Night will be 6pm - 6:30pm.

Volunteer for the Christmas Festival on 11/20

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:10

The Holy Transfiguration Family invite you to serve at our upcoming Christmas Festival on November 20th. The Christmas Festival is a wonderful opportunity for the members of our family to come together, sharing their varied gifts and talents, to strengthen our community. Our servants are the heart of the festival. We are so very grateful to all who are able to offer their time and prayers towards this event.

Please consider signing up to work one or two shifts at the various stations. Help is also needed for set up and clean up.

Please click here to access the link to the sign up genius for all the volunteer opportunities.

Building Update

Thank God, we have completed the construction documents and sumbitted them to the City of Chino Hills! If God wills, we hope to have the grading permit by November 2021 and the building permit by April 2022.

For more information, please visit our Building Project page of this website.

"We made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.'" (2 Peter 1:16-17)
